A microfluidic platform for polymer synthesis cells

A study introduced a novel technique for preparing protocells using glass capillary microfluidic devices based on polymeric materials. The polymeric materials were fabricated through a surfactant-assisted dehumidification process of water-in-water (W/O/W) liquid. As shown in the figure below, the research successfully produced uniform single and double-layer polymeric structures using a dehumidification strategy based on Pluronic F-68. This represents the fastest microfluidic method for producing homogeneous polymer vesicles, offering significant advantages in minimizing exposure of encapsulated substances to organic solvents in emulsions.
