Casting and Microinjection Service

Inquiry

Creative Biolabs specializes in the development and application of microfluidic technology. With our powerful precision mold design and fabrication platform, we provide clients all over the world with stable, flexible and cost-effective large-scale rigid polymer hot embossing and micro-injection casting services.

Hot Embossing

The most commonly used material in hot embossing for microfluidic chips production is polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Under moderate temperature and high pressure, the material undergoes considerable deformation. Pressing the PMMA sheet onto a pre-processed high-precision silicon or metal template at a controlled temperature can achieve rapid and stable reprinting of the template pattern. This rapid reprinting technique is used for high-precision, high-thickness mass manufacturing or test prototype production of polymers. The materials used in the thermal embossing process are not limited to PMMA, but also include other commonly used plastics in the field of microfluidics, such as PC, PET, PVC, etc.

Micro Injection

Microinjection is a technique inherited directly from the field of plastics processing. The fully molten polymer is injected into the mold cavity using high pressure and vacuum at a temperature above the glass transition temperature. After the system has cooled and de-molded, a solidified structure corresponding to the mold negative can be obtained. Compared with the traditional procedure, micro injection molding is relatively complicated, and mold construction is difficult. But overall, this is the most suitable microfluidic chip processing approach for rapid and ultra-large-scale polymer microfluidic chip production.
